Orlando's own Erickson Lubin in NY

Orlando's own Erickson Lubin in NY

Erickson "The Hammer" Lubin sat with us just prior to him departing for his upcoming World Championship fight against 154 lb. Champ Jermell Charlo.

Lubin, a native of Orlando, trains here year round at his SCHOOL OF HARD KNOCKS gym in Central Florida. He is excited about his chances of returning home with the belts and to show all of Central Florida just how much he loves it here.

“I was signed by Mike Tyson at 18 years old and he taught me how to deal with all the pressure like this and I thank him for it,” Lubin said. “He's still a mentor in my life and he'll probably be here October 14th when I beat Charlo.  I wanna keep it going til the whole world knows my name." Confidence is his strong point and after seeing how calm he was with us, I'm sure he has a game plan in mind to finish the job.

We first photographed young Erickson in Miami on one of Mike Tysons first ever events. He blew our minds then and I am sure he will continue to do so for many more years.
