UCF releases 2018 Football Schedule
The UCF football team will play seven games at home in the 2018 season. The Knights play two of their first three on the road, but have a pair of three-game home stands on the slate as well.
UCF opens the season on the road at UConn for an American Athletic Conference game on Thursday, August 30. That game will mark the first true road opener for the Knights since 2012. UCF played away from Spectrum Stadium to open the 2014 season, taking on Penn State in Dublin. The matchup with the Huskies will be the first time in its FBS history that UCF has opened the season with a conference game.
The Knights open their home slate on Sept. 8, hosting South Carolina State. UCF is back on the road the next week visiting Chapel Hill for a contest at North Carolina. UCF will then host defending Conference USA Champion Florida Atlantic in a Friday night game on Sept. 21 at Spectrum Stadium. The FAU game is the start of three straight home games. Pittsburgh visits on Sept. 29 for Family Weekend, while the first home conference game is Oct. 6 vs. SMU.
A pair of road games in mid-October – at Memphis and East Carolina – lead into the Knights’ bye week.
Following that bye, UCF will not leave the state of Florida for the remainder of the regular season. The Knights host Temple for a Thursday night game that has already been chosen to air on ESPN. Navy visits Spectrum Stadium for the first time on Nov. 10. Cincinnati wraps up the second three-game stretch of home games on Nov. 17. The Knights will once again wrap up the regular season on Black Friday in a War On I-4 clash at USF.
